Dental Cleanings and Oral Surgery
When recommended, your pet can receive an out-patient dental procedure under anesthesia from us. For more information on the details of our surgical processes, please reference the Surgery tab.
During dental surgery all patients:
- Receive dental radiographs and probing to properly assess the external and internal integrity of every tooth. This allows us to determine if a tooth needs to be extracted to mitigate current or future complications. If indicated, teeth will be removed by your pet's expert veterinarian.
- Receive a complete dental cleaning. One of your pet's skilled team members will use our professional dental equipment to remove tartar buildup from above and below the gum line on each tooth. They will finish with a polish of the teeth to keep them healthy and fresh.
Once your pet has recovered from their dental procedure you should receive a call from their veterinarian or one of our receptionists to let you know how they're doing and when you can pick them up. Upon checkout, one of our team members will go over all the take home instructions and medications with you. While your pet may feel a little sore right after their procedure, most recover wonderfully at home and feel great relief in the following days.
